Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about booking the Red River Pours tap trailer — pricing, how dry-hire works, and what to expect on event day.
How much does our mobile bar / tap trailer cost?
One flat price: $1,500 for up to 4 hours of service and up to 100 guests. That includes delivery, setup, and breakdown of the tap trailer, a TABC-certified bartender, four customizable taps with 2 custom cocktails included, a printed custom drink menu, compostable drinkware, ice, and full liability insurance. Additional hours are $250 each, and events over 100 guests add a flat $400 for supplies. We never charge gratuity.
What is dry-hire?
Dry-hire means you purchase the alcohol yourself at retail price — with no markup — and we handle everything else: the tap trailer, TABC-certified staff, ice, mixers, syrups, garnishes, drinkware, and a custom menu. After booking, we send you a shopping list tailored to your guest count and drink choices, so there's no guesswork about what or how much to buy. Read more about how it works →
Do I need a liquor license for a wedding or private event in Texas?
In most cases, no. Texas does not require a permit when alcohol is served free of charge to guests at a private event — a permit is only needed when alcohol is sold, which includes charging admission or requiring drink tickets. That's exactly how our dry-hire model works: you provide the alcohol, we serve it free to your guests, and no liquor license is needed. Our bartenders are TABC-certified and trained in responsible service.
Do you charge gratuity or hidden fees?
Never. The price you see is the price you pay — no gratuity, no service fees, and no generator surcharge. Our trailer runs off-grid and silent, so there's no generator at all.
What drinks can go on the taps?
Almost anything: craft beer, sparkling wine, cocktails, mocktails, seltzers, and other non-alcoholic options. Two custom cocktail taps are included with every booking, and you can turn a third or fourth tap into a signature cocktail for $200 per tap.
How many guests can the trailer serve?
The base package covers up to 100 guests, and the four-tap system pours multiple drinks at once, so lines stay short even at full capacity. For larger events, a flat $400 supply fee covers everything over 100 guests.
What areas does Red River Pours serve?
We serve the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex — including Dallas, Fort Worth, Denton, Plano, Frisco, and McKinney — plus North Texas towns like Sherman, Denison, and Gainesville, and Southern Oklahoma communities including Ardmore, Durant, and the Lake Texoma area.
How much space does the trailer need?
The trailer's footprint is 12 feet long by 6 feet wide — plan a little extra room for guests at the taps — and it stands 6 feet 4 inches tall at its highest point, so it clears most gates and overhangs. It sets up on grass, gravel, or pavement, indoors or out, and just needs vehicle access to the serving spot. Our crew arrives 2 hours before the event to have everything ready.
Does the trailer need power at my venue?
No. The trailer is fully off-grid and operates silently — no generator hum, no cords, and no power hookup needed from your venue. It works just as well in a backyard or open field as it does at a wedding venue.
Is Red River Pours insured?
Yes. Every booking includes general and liquor liability insurance, which most venues require from bar vendors.
What happens to leftover alcohol after the event?
It's yours. Since you purchased the alcohol, anything unused goes home with you after the event.
